NW Healthy Options Medical Marijuana: Referring Physicians
Dear Dr.,
I am a board-certified urologist who has been in practice since 1980 doing general adult and pediatric urology and urologic surgery. In 1995 I was diagnosed with progressive multiple sclerosis and gradually reduced my practice. In 2007 I joined the medical staff of a nutritional clinic in California for two years. I primarily have limitations with ambulation but am not spared from many of the other symptoms of progressive multiple sclerosis. I have tried all the conventional methods to relieve my symptoms.
I have found that the active ingredients in cannabis have worked for the patients that I help every day as well as myself.
I want to take the medicinal use of cannabis (hemp/marijuana) out of the back alley of illegal use and place it in the front yard of an effective natural legal substance for specific severe debilitating medical illnesses.
I want to educate patients on the benefits of not smoking their medication. The effective use of vaporization, cooking, topicals and tinctures of cannabis will be emphasized.
I want to educate patients on the personal possession and growing laws which state Legislature in Washington have made legal for qualified medical patients.
I am currently seeing patients to educate them and provide authorization for their personal use of the medicinal drug cannabis.
The primary benefit that I've seen to patients is in the area of:
- Reducing pain
- Reducing the use of addictive narcotics and dangerous drugs
- Improved rest and sleep
- Relief from nausea and improved appetite
- ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON, NEUROSURGEON, PRIMARY CARE: we can help your patients suffering from chronic severe back pain
- ONCOLOGIST: We can help your chemotherapy patients for effective treatment of nausea.
- NEUROLOGIST: We can help your patients with multiple sclerosis, seizure disorders, debilitating migraines and Parkinson's disease.
- OPHTHALMOLOGIST: We can help your patients with glaucoma.
- GASTROENTEROLOGIST: We can help your patients with hepatitis C, GERD, IBS, severe chronic nausea, or anorexia.
To all chiropractors, osteopaths, naturopaths, nurses, physical therapists and any health care provider with patients suffering from these chronic debilitating problems we can help.
Send your office notes limited to a clear explanation and verification of the patient's diagnosis. Please include imaging studies and standard treatment that has not permanently resolved the patient's medical problem. I will do all the rest to authorize your patient for the legal and defensible possession, growth, and use of cannabis in the medicinal setting (in the patient's own home). I will educate them on state law of Washington to avoid the inappropriate illegal use of cannabis. Our office will issue them a legal authorization.
Contact us and we will send you brochures and business cards to distribute to your patients.
Be assured that the state law completely and totally protects you as a physician for referring or recommending the use of medicinal marijuana in medical conditions. Be assured that I have no interest or desire in the treatment of any ongoing conditions. All patients will be referred back to their doctor for continued care for their underlying medical problems. I am only working in the capacity of an authorizing physician who can educate and certify your patient on the legal use of medical marijuana.
